On 22 January 2025, settlement was reached in the claims of the Duke of Sussex and Lord Tom Watson against News Group Newspapers. The trial, which was due to start on that date and to be heard over the course of 7 weeks, was therefore vacated.
The claims were part of the Mobile Telephone Voicemail Interception Litigation brought against NGN, alleging unlawful information gathering at the News of the World and The Sun.
