Fees and Finance
The Fees & Finance Team are responsible for two key parts of Matrix administration.
Fees are your first point of contact if you would like to speak to a member of the team regarding any aspect of barristers’ fees including billing, negotiations, assessment and Aged Debt queries or fee collection.
Please make payment of barristers’ fees via BACS (electronic transfer). Account details can be found on our fee notes and invoices but should you wish to pay by card, in US$ or Euros please email us for details.

Chloe is the Head of Finance and leads both the teams dedicated to these processes. She works closely with the Chief Executive and Practice Managers to ensure the smooth running of the Fees and Finance provisions at Matrix.
She is responsible for Matrix’s finances as well as the administration of barrister’s fees. She has specialist knowledge of funding for domestic and international civil and criminal cases, including private remuneration, all types of Conditional Fee Agreements (CFAs), fixed fees, third party and alternative funding options.
Chloe and the team aim to provide exceptional levels of service and expertise; they are always available to happy to speak to anyone about any aspect of fees, funding or finance.
Carla has been clerking since 1997 and joined Matrix in 2000.
Following 19 years on the Practice Desk at Matrix and many years as a Practice Manager, Carla has now taken up the role of Fees Manager in the Fees and Finance Team.
Carla works closely with Head of Finance and the Practice Teams to ensure the smooth running of the Fees Team in all aspects of billing and credit control. Carla has particular knowledge in private remuneration, fixed fee agreements and all aspects of Conditional Fee Agreements. Carla is dedicated to providing a professional and seamless service at Matrix.
Carla is married with 3 sons and spends most of her spare time watching them play football
Felix joined Matrix full-time in October 2019 after completing his Graduate Diploma in Law from City, University of London. Prior to studying Law Felix ran his own business for nine years where he was responsible for finance and bookkeeping activities. He will assist the Head of Finance with the management of the Purchase Ledger and all day to day accounting procedures.
Emlyn has been involved with the submission and appeal of Criminal cases since the end of 2012 and has joined the fees team in October 2020 as a Billing Co-Ordinator. He will assist the other members of the Fees and Finance team with the billing of cases.
In his spare time, he likes to watch and play football and golf as well as cook recipes from cookbooks and TV shows
Monique joined Matrix as Billing Co-Ordinator in October 2020 and will assist the Fees and Finance team with the billing of cases. Prior to this she worked at 7BR Chambers as a Fees Clerk where she was responsible for the billing and handling of fees for Civil matters. Monique is currently studying the Graduate Diploma in Law part-time and in her spare time enjoys socialising with family and friends and trying new cuisines.
