Matrix is delighted to announce that Jessica Simor KC and Rhodri Thompson KC have been appointed to the Expert Panel of the Independent Football Regulator (IFR).
The Football Governance Act 2025 provides clubs and others subject to the IFR’s regulatory regime with the right to seek an internal review of Reviewable Decisions by the Expert Panel. The aim is to provide an effective route for clubs to challenge IFR decisions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The Expert Panel consists of members with considerable expertise and experience in the operation, organisation, and/or governance of clubs or competitions, and financial or other regulation, as well as experienced members of the legal profession.
