The First‑Tier Tribunal has unanimously upheld the Charity Commission’s finding of misconduct / mismanagement against Vladimir Potanin, after he was designated by a number of countries, including the UK, under their sanctions regimes and failed to resign his office as Founder of the Potanin Foundation. As designation resulted in the freezing of the charity’s assets, the Tribunal held that Mr Potanin’s failure to resign was contrary to his fiduciary duties.
Jamas Hodivala KC and Jonathan Dixey of 5 Essex Chambers acted for the Charity Commission.
