Telecommunications

One of our core areas of regulatory expertise is in telecommunications law, drawing on the knowledge and experience of members of Matrix’s EU, competition, and commercial teams.
We advise and act for telecoms clients in commercial disputes in this sector in courts and before arbitral tribunals, and regularly appear in investigations, appeals and disputes both for major telecoms operators (including BT, H3G and Vodafone) and public sector regulators. This includes in appeals to the CAT (and related references to the UK Competition and Markets Authority), the Court of Appeal and preliminary references to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Our members specialising in telecommunications law with years of experience acting for private and public sector clients in regulatory disputes and competition investigations in the telecoms sector. We are often instructed in complex commercial disputes with an international dimension and we bring a wealth of international experience in this area, having led the team advising on three investment treaty claims against the Government of Belize, arising out of the nationalisation of the telecoms provider, Belize Telemedia Ltd.
