The Inquiry has now completed its hearings on government decision making during the pandemic, by calling witnesses in Northern Ireland. Danny Friedman KC, Anita Davies and Robbie Stern acted for Disability Action (Northern Ireland). It is a Disabled Peoples’ Organisation, run by and for Disabled people. They were instructed by Shamik Dutta and Charlotte Haworth Hird of Bhatt Murphy.

For their opening submissions dealing with the unique constitutional arrangements in Northern Ireland and their problematic implications for Disabled people who make up 1 in 4 of the population, see here.

For their closing submissions on how Covid-19 in Northern Ireland represents a nadir for the peace process in terms of state failure to prevent fatalities and suffering of Disabled people, see here.
