Matrix is delighted to announce that Tom Gillie has joined us as a member from Cloisters, with effect from 1 September 2020.
Tom was called to the Bar in 2013 and his practice has a particular focus on employment, equality and discrimination and human rights law and the law of political parties. He has appeared as sole counsel in the High Court and the Employment Appeal Tribunal and is a member of the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s panel of junior counsel.
Tom is an established employment law practitioner who is valued for his strategic and commercial acumen and his attention to detail. He also has extensive experience across a range of equality, discrimination and public law matters and is instructed by high profile organisations in discrimination cases of public importance. Tom has particular interest in discrimination claims in housing cases and has an extensive knowledge of the sector. He is also developing an education practice, as well as acting in data protection, commercial and clinical negligence cases.
