Mr Justice Warby has ordered Jane Collins, a UKIP MEP to pay damages of £54,000 to Sir Kevin Barron MP, John Healey MP and Sarah Champion MP, in respect of untrue and defamatory allegations she made against them during a speech at the UKIP party conference in the run up to the 2015 General Election. Ms Collins has falsely suggested that each of them knew about the mass child sexual exploitation in Rotherham yet chose not to intervene for political reasons. The judge also ordered that she pay the Claimants’ legal costs, with a payment on account of £120,000 to be made within 21 days.
