Helen Mountfield QC, Jessica Simor QC and Rhodri Thompson QC form part of three of the legal teams seeking a declaration from the Administrative Court that a decision to trigger Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union cannot be taken without an Act of Parliament. This case, which is of fundamental legal and constitutional importance for the relationship between Parliament and the executive, commenced on 13th October and will continue on 17th-18th October. It is widely expected to be followed by a ‘leapfrog’ appeal directly to the Supreme Court whatever the outcome of the case.
