The Journey To Legal Capability: Challenges for Public Law from Public Legal Education

Matrix trainee Abiodun Michael Olatokun has been a leading member of the Solicitor General’s Committee on Public Legal Education for the last five years.

In a peer-reviewed academic article for the Northumbria University International Journal of Public Legal Education, he details the history, progress and achievements of government efforts to improve the legal capabilities of the British public.

Abiodun argues that legal education plays a key role in facilitating access to justice and suggests that no young person should leave the compulsory education system without a comprehensive understanding of their rights.
