Tennis ace Boris Becker asserts diplomatic immunity in the High Court

Ben Emmerson QC has been appointed to represent Boris Becker, the tennis ace, who is asserting diplomatic immunity in the High Court. Becker, who is being sued for bankruptcy, has been appointed as sports attaché to the Central African Republic and is asserting diplomatic immunity against attempts to prolong and further enforce bankruptcy proceedings that were brought against him last year in relation to money he allegedly owes to a London-based private bank, Arbuthnot, Latham and Co.
