This is the third article in our sports law briefing series, “Road to Rio”. Over the coming months we will be discussing some of the key legal issues in sport, whilst looking ahead to the Rio Olympics and Paralympics this summer.
In this article, Gavin Millar QC discusses the controversial issue of doping in sport and the international framework that regulates this: the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code. He considers the case law in this area and questions the efficacy of the regulatory system in preventing occurrences of doping. This week’s briefing, along with the rest of the series can be downloaded here.
