On 7 and 8 August 2025, Prof. Philip Leach led a workshop on drafting judgments for the Supreme Court of Moldova. The substantive issues covered included judicial vetting, freedom of expression of judges and discrimination.
The workshop was part of the Council of Europe’s project “Strengthening the institutional capacity of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova”. This project aims to support the implementation of the Supreme Court’s reform and increase the Court’s capacity to deliver justice aligned with European standards by improving the quality and consistency of judicial decisions, and promoting the uniform application of the law. These efforts are designed to contribute to better human rights protection in the Republic of Moldova.
