The “People’s Challenge” parties in the forthcoming judicial review to decide if parliament or the cabinet has the constitutional authority to trigger Brexit have applied to the court to object to government secrecy over the case. They say that an order intended to protect individuals involved in the case from being subjected to harassment is being misinterpreted so as to prevent the government’s arguments from being open to public discussion in the normal way, and that this is unacceptable on an issue of such wide public interest.
