New Reporting Restrictions Guide published


The Judicial College has today published the new edition of Reporting Restrictions in the Criminal Courts. This publication is an authoritative guide for the judiciary on the operation of the open justice principle and reporting restrictions in criminal proceedings.

The new guidance has been comprehensively updated to reflect changes in the law in the last 6 years and includes new sections on obtaining access to court documents, broadcast of criminal proceedings and appeals against reporting restrictions.

Guy Vassall-Adams KC and Tim James-Matthews contributed to this new edition, along with judicial and academic editors.
