New conservation group, Wild Justice, stops the killing of wild birds through legal challenge

Natural England is revoking three general licences that permit the killing of certain wild birds as of Thursday 25 April 2019. These licences cover 16 species of birds including jays, canada geese, parakeets, gulls and wood pigeons. The change follows a legal challenge brought by Wild Justice, a new conservation organisation,  to the way the licences have been issued. Natural England accepted that they had not carried out proper assessments of non-lethal alternatives before issuing the licences. Press coverage can be found here.

David Wolfe QC and Anita Davies were involved in this case.
