Legal advice published on diplomatic protection of British woman detained in Iran

Redress has today published a legal opinion by John Dugard SC, Alison Macdonald QC and Tatyana Eatwell on the diplomatic protection of British mother and charity worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. The opinion concludes that “We are of the view that the only effective means under international law by which the grave harm suffered by Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe may be repaired lies in the UK’s right to exercise diplomatic protection.” Redress continues to work with Nazanin’s husband Richard to campaign for her release.
