High Court rules in favour of Rebekah Vardy in first stage of libel case

Mr Justice Warby has today ruled that the Instagram post published by Colleen Rooney was accusing Rebekah Vardy of secretly informing the Sun newspaper of Mrs Rooney’s personal information and was identifying her as the wrongdoer.  He did not agree with Mrs Rooney’s argument that it merely accused Mrs Vardy as being one of the suspects. He ordered Mrs Rooney to pay Mrs Vardy’s costs of the Preliminary Issue Trial.

Hugh Tomlinson QC and Sara Mansoori acted for Mrs Vardy, instructed by Charlotte Harris of Kingsley Napley LLP.
