High Court dismisses judicial review of the Airports National Policy Statement

The High Court dismissed five applications for judicial review of the Secretary of State for Transports decision to designate the Airports National Policy Statement (ANPS). The ANPS sets out the Government’s policy that a third runway is needed at Heathrow. All five applications were dismissed.
David Wolfe QC was instructed by Friends of the Earth in relation to the aviation climate change impact of the proposed runway. Sarah Hannett appeared on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Commons.
