High Court refuses Authentic Equity Alliance permission to proceed with judicial review

Published:

The High Court yesterday considered whether to grant permission to the Authentic Equity Alliance to challenge sections of the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s Code of Practice on “Services, Public Functions and Associations”. The challenged sections concerned “Gender reassignment discrimination and separate and single-sex services” pursuant to the Equality Act 2010. Following a one day hearing Mr Justice Henshaw refused the Authentic Equity Alliance permission to proceed with its judicial review.

Dan Squires QC represented the Equality and Human Rights Commission in this case.
