Published:

Businessman Howard Grossman and former MP David Mackintosh were acquitted in the first prosecution of its kind under the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000 tried before Mrs Justice Eady DBE.  The case related to the transparency of donations to the Conservative Party general election and involved complex arguments on statutory interpretation.

Vedrana Pehar led by Neil Hawes KC (Crucible Chambers) represented the main defendant Howard Grossman, instructed by Ben Richardson from Richardson Lissack.
