Sir David Amess was murdered in October 2021 in a terrorist attack while undertaking a local constituency surgery. Sir David was a longstanding MP and a tireless public servant. His death was an attack on democracy; Sir David was attacked solely because of his work as an MP, by an attacker who had considered numerous other politicians as a target.

Sir David’s family are seeking a public inquest into his death, to examine how his killer was able to plan and carry out the attack, whether the murder could have been prevented, and to identify lessons for the future.

The family are represented by Jesse Nicholls and Rosalind Comyn, instructed by Daniel Machover and Katherine Sorab at Hickman & Rose.
