Court grants permission for challenge to Universal Credit scheme by severely disabled person

Lang J has granted the claimant, a severely disabled man with a terminal illness, permission to challenge the DWP’s new benefit regime Universal Credit, under which certain payments (known as “premia”) previously available for single severely disabled people living alone have been abolished, and no “top up” payments are currently available.
