Controversial parole proceedings in Gibraltar finally determined

Published:

The Supreme Court has now  directed that Isaac Marrache can be released on parole. The Court accepted that he poses no substantial risk of re-offending. This comes after a  previous declaration by the Court that the initial order of the Minister of Justice to release Mr Marrache was a nullity.  Leave to appeal on the point of law of whether the Court was right to intervene in the first place has also been granted. Danny Friedman QC represented Marrache.
