Matrix is delighted to announce that Claire Darwin has been shortlisted for The Lawyer’s Barrister of the Year Award.
Claire was shortlisted for her work since 1 April 2019 including her work on the following key cases: Graysons Restaurants Ltd v Jones [2019] 3 All ER 688, Heal v University of Oxford (EAT), Proprietor of Ashdown House School v JKL [2019] ELR 530, Brown v Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis [2019] Costs L.R. 1633, Somerville v Nursing and Midwifery Council (ET), Gwynedd Council v Barratt & Others, (EAT), Heskett v Secretary of State for Justice (CoA). The benchmark case in Claire’s entry was Samira Ahmed v BBC (ET). Claire represented Samira Ahmed in the employment tribunal. The tribunal held that the work done by Jeremy Vine on the programme Points of View and Samira Ahmed on Newswatch was equal work, and upheld Samira Ahmed’s equal pay claims.
