The EAT has handed down judgment in The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia (Cultural Bureau) and Ms A Alhayali. The EAT held in particular that the ET had erred in applying Benkharbouche to its findings of fact, and that the functions performed by the claimant fell within the sphere of sovereign activity.

Claire Darwin KC appeared for the successful Appellant, leading Andrew Legg (Essex Court Chambers), instructed by Patrick Brodie and Charlotte Reid of RPC.
