Over 40 former judges, QCs, professors and junior barristers from Matrix Chambers have signed a statement calling for an urgent, humane and effective governmental response to the refugee crisis. Over 300 lawyers including former law lords and retired judges have signed up to this statement which calls for the UK to take a fair and proportionate share of refugees, to provide safe and legal routes to the UK and within the EU and for there to fair and thorough procedures to determine eligibility for international protection.
