Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh KC represents South Africa in the ICJ


Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh KC is instructed by South Africa in the International Court of Justice in the Case Concerning the Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (South Africa v. Israel).

South Africa has sought the indication of provisional measures in the case, including the immediate cessation by Israel of its ongoing military operations against Gaza. Those hearings were heard on 11 and 12 January 2023. Blinne addressed the Court on the risk of genocidal acts, the risk of irreparable prejudice and urgency.
