Matrix’s women silks were amongst those celebrating 75 years since women first became KCs at an event held in the Royal Courts of Justice this week. Over 350 female KCs and Judges came together to mark the milestone. Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr spoke about women’s progress in the legal profession and the ongoing need for greater representation at senior levels. The celebration highlighted key historical moments, including the achievements of Helena Normanton and Rose Heilbron, the first women to be appointed KCs in 1949, and the growing number of women who have since taken silk.
