The claimants sought to challenge the fact that they were forced to retire as employment tribunal lay members on their 70th birthday. Held: dismissing the application, the tribunal held there were sound reasons for forcing all judicial office holders to retire on their 70th birthday. The tribunal reiterated the reasons it gave in White v Ministry of Justice (2014).
