No breach of Article 8 ECHR when two prisoners in a committed relationship are separated

Both of the appellants were serving prisoners and both were in a committed relationship with fellow prisoners. In both cases the respondent took the decision to separate each appellant from his respective partner. The appellants alleged that the separation was a violation of ECHR, art 8. Held: the respondent’s decisions were in accordance with the ECHR, art 8 and the appeals were dismissed.
