The claimants alleged that the defendant directly racially discriminated against them because they were Irish Travellers contrary to the Equality Act 2010. Specifically, they alleged that the defendant refused them access to its pub because they were Irish Travellers. The court allowed the appeal, holding that the defendant treated the claimants less favourably than it did others, and directly racially discriminated against the claimants.
