The appeal and underlying claim concern AB’s treatment in Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution.
Held: admitted breaches of the rules relating to educational provision and oversight of AB’s removal from association did not lead to a breach of ECHR, art 3. However, AB’s removal from association did engage his rights under ECHR, art 8 – and while such an interference was justified as necessary and proportionate, it was not in accordance with the law.
