Closed material application may be made in Libyan rendition case

Re: Belhaj & Anor v Rt Hon Jack Straw [2017] EWHC 1861 (QB)

The claimants submitted that the defendants were complicit in their rendition to Libya, during which they were tortured and Mr Belhaj was summarily sentenced to death. The defendants applied for a declaration that a closed material application may be made under the Justice and Security Act 2013, s 6. The Court held that an application may be made.
