Closed material application may be made in Libyan rendition case

Published:

The claimants submitted that the defendants were complicit in their rendition to Libya, during which they were tortured and Mr Belhaj was summarily sentenced to death. The defendants applied for a declaration that a closed material application may be made under the Justice and Security Act 2013, s 6. The Court held that an application may be made.

Richard Hermer QC and Edward Craven were involved in this case.
