A judge at Westminster Magistrates’ Court has ruled that British businessman Mike Lynch, the former CEO of Autonomy plc,  should be extradited to the US to face criminal fraud charges. Autonomy plc was acquired by Hewlett Packard, and Mr Lynch faces charges including securities fraud relating to the $11 billion acquisition.

The judge refused Mr Lynch’s attempt to block his extradition to face 17 counts including wire fraud and securities fraud.  The final decision will be made by the Home Secretary, Priti Patel, with the possibility of appeals thereafter.

Alex Bailin QC  and Mark Summers QC were involved in this case.
