Barrymore entitled to more than nominal damages for unlawful arrest

The Court held that the claimant, Michael Barrymore, was entitled to more than nominal damages as a result of his unlawful arrest. It was concluded that the evidence suggested that if the unlawful arrest had not occurred, another of the officers that were present would have arrested the claimant unlawfully.
