Helen Mountfield QC to chair the first Bonavero Institute of Human Rights annual lecture

The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights will host Judge Róbert Spanó and Lord Sumption at Lincoln’s Inn tomorrow evening for the first annual Human Rights lecture. Judge Róbert Spanó is Vice President of the European Court of Human Rights and Lord Sumption is a recently retired judge of the UK Supreme Court and 2019 BBC Reith Lecturer.

Judge Róbert Spanó will respond to the Reith Lectures that Lord Sumption delivered this summer on ‘Law and the Decline of Politics’ with a lecture titled ‘The Democratic Virtues of Human Rights Law – A Response to Lord Sumption’s Reith Lectures’. Lord Sumption will then respond and the floor will be opened up to questions and comments. Helen Mountfield QC will chair the event.
