Appeal against murder conviction allowed
R v Donna Vasyli (SCCrApp. No. 255 of 2015)
Vasyli appealed against the conviction of her husband’s murder. The appeal was allowed and the case was remitted to the Supreme Court for retrial. The Court considered, inter alia, that the judge should have directed the jury on the significance of lies and on the issue of provocation.
