Investigatory Powers Tribunal awards compensation to senior Met police officer

The Investigatory Powers Tribunal has awarded compensation to a senior Metropolitan police officer following the MPS’ unlawful use of RIPA powers to obtain communications data in an internal investigation, resulting in a violation of the officer’s ECHR, art 8 rights.
