Sir David Bean

In July 2004 David was appointed a Judge of the High Court, assigned to the Queen's Bench Division, after 28 years practice at the Bar. One of the founder members of Matrix, he established a reputation as a leading Silk in the fields of employment and discrimination law, education and other public law disputes. David chaired the Employment Law Bar Association from 1999-2001, and was Chairman of the Bar in 2002.

 

Ken Macdonald QC

One of Matrix' founding members, Ken specialises in criminal and human rights law and is regarded as one of the country’s top criminal defence lawyers. Chambers & Partners directory for 2003-04 described Ken as “Premier League” and “completely fantastic”. He is currently the Director of Public Prosecutions, his three-year term of office having started in November 2003.

 

Murray Hunt

Another founder member of Matrix, Murray is currently Legal Advisor to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights. Murray specialises in human rights law and public law and was described in Chambers and Partners directory for 2003-04 as an “obvious choice” for judicial reviews. Murray’s two year term of office as Legal Advisor to the Committee started at the end of March 2004.

 

Arnondo Chakrabarti

A former solicitor and econometrician, Arnondo was one of Matrix' first trainees and was made a member in October 2001. He left Matrix to return to practice as a solicitor with Allen & Overy in London.
