Karon Monaghan was regularly instructed by the EOC, DRC and CRE and is now receiving instructions from the Equality and Human Rights Commission. She appears in discrimination cases in the employment tribunals, county courts and in the High Court, as well as in the appeal courts. She is regularly instructed in discrimination claims against the police and against other public authorities and in public law proceedings, including judicial review. She is a founder member and ex Chair of the Discrimination Law Association.

Her regular conference appearances include, for example: EOR/TUC Annual Discrimination Conference 2000-2008 (London); Industrial Law Society 1998 and 2006 (Oxford); Society of Legal Scholars 2007 (Durham); EU Year of Equal Opportunities (2007), European Parliament. She has also recently spoken at events organised by the Administrative Law Bar Association (2006); the Public Law Project (2006); the Greater London Authority (Women in London’s Economy) (2007) and the Minority Lawyers Conference (2007).

Karon also writes on equality and discrimination law, including most recently Equality Law (2007, OUP).
