Members Hugh Tomlinson QC Speeches, Articles & Books Notable Cases What Others Say		Hugh Tomlinson QC Notable Cases  R v Dunlop (2006) Tim Owen QC, Hugh Tomlinson QC and Alex Bailin appeared in the first 'double jeopardy' case.  Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police v Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd Channel 5 were able to show a documentary about Manchester gangsters following the last minute overturning of an injunction by the Court of Appeal at a late night sitting on Tuesday 22nd March.  Chief Constable of Cleveland v McGrogan (2002) The case concerned the police power to detain for the purpose of preventing further breach of peace. Hugh Tomlinson QC appeared for M.  Aldi Stores v Holmes Buildings (2003) Hugh Tomlinson QC appeared in this case concerning limitation issues in a negligence claim against consulting engineers. Hugh was instructed by the administrators in relation to a claim for £30 million.  Hammond v Director of Public Prosecution (2004) The case concerned the freedom of expression and religion in relation to offensive preaching.
