What Others Say

Heather is ranked in Defamation/Privacy in the 2008 editions of both Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.

The Chambers and Partners commentary (2008) includes that the “terrific” Heather has “’a brilliant intellectual ability’ and is noted for having been ‘an out-of-this-world junior who has now turned into an exceptional silk.’” It reports that interviewees dub her “an out-and-out success story.”  The Legal 500 (2008) commentary describes Heather as “‘brilliant’, ‘stunningly good’ and ‘very clever’”, reporting a solicitor’s additional comment as “‘Heather was better than all the silks she was up against even before she took silk. She doesn’t let judges bully her into making concessions.’”

Shortly after her appointment as Queen's Counsel, comments in Chambers & Partners Guide for 2007 included that Heather was the "truly outstanding" new silk, who offers "unequalled forensic intellect" and an "innovative winning approach to cases", that she is "persuasive in court" and shows "superb judgment". (Chambers & Partners - 2007)

The Legal 500 had tipped Heather to become the next libel silk and noted that she is "rated for her ability to get her head round complex financial issues and document-heavy libel cases". (Legal 500 - 2007)

Previously, in the directories

Before her appointment as Queen's Counsel in October 2006, Heather had been ranked for years as leading junior in Defamation by both the Legal 500 and the Chambers & Partners directories.  She was named Defamation Junior of the Year in the Chambers & Partners Bar Awards for both 2005 and 2006.

Recommending her as the sole 'starred' Leading Junior in Defamation and Privacy, Chambers & Partners wrote that: '"Diligent" Heather Rogers is "very forensic in her approach and very persuasive in court." Rivals agreed, "she is an advocate with oomph" who "will leave no stone unturned." Her "shrewdness and willingness to assist" make her a very popular figure.' (Chambers & Partners - 2006)

The Legal 500 of 2005 awarded Heather the joint top position for 'Leading Junior' in the field of Defamation and Privacy, recognising her as 'one of the best juniors at the libel bar' and praising her for being, 'very commercial and sensible'. (Legal 500 - 2005)

Ranked as top starred Junior in Defamation/Privacy - ‘Clients praised "incomparable" Heather Rogers for her "astonishing flair and amazing expertise." She has represented Roman Polanski in arguing before the Court of Appeal to allow the claimant to give evidence by video-link from Paris in his libel action against Vanity Fair.’ (Chambers & Partners- 2005)

“Heather Rogers continues to enjoy a reputation as one of the best defamation juniors at the Bar. She is recommended over and over again by solicitors, and praised for being 'user friendly', 'very bright' and 'easy to work with'.' (Legal 500 - 2004)

'Heather Rogers continues to possess "that something special". The star junior, she is "gutsy and possesses limitless energy and an encyclopaedic knowledge"' (Chambers & Partners - 2003)

“widely considered the leading defamation junior...represented Private Eye in Condliffe v Pressdram” (Legal 500 - 2003)
