Charlotte specialises primarily in public law, with particular expertise in human rights, immigration and asylum, education, community care and planning law.
In the area of immigration and asylum she is regularly involved in challenging removals, decisions to detain and other decisions of the Secretary of State by way of judicial review and in damages claims for unlawful detention and assault. She also appears in the Immigration Appeals Tribunal and the Immigration Appellate Authority and the Special Immigration Appeals Commission.
Charlotte also practices in EU law and free movement of persons. She has a developing practice in public international law, including international criminal law and in the criminal field, she has acted in a number of cases involving political protest and direct action.
She is a contributor to Jackson's Immigration Law and Practice, Competition Law in Western Europe and USA (Kluwer, 2004) and to Delivering Rights (Hart, 2003). Charlotte has been a member of Matrix Chambers since 2002.
