Samantha joined Matrix in 2005. She is an established junior recommended in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 with a broad practice but focusing on immigration and asylum, public law, international law, and commercial litigation.

Notable recent cases include R (K and others) v Secretary of State for the Home Department, KH (Iraq) CG v Secretary of State for the Home Department, Henwood v Barlow Clowes International Ltd & Or, YL v Birmingham City Council & Ors, SFO v Al Zayat, and Rottenberg v London Borough of Hackney. She also previously acted in the Thyssen-Bornemisza trust litigation in Bermuda.

She has a particular interest in issues relating to freedom of religion and religious discrimination. Her book 'Freedom of Religion, Minorities and the Law' (OUP 2007) deals with a wide range of civil practice areas affected by religious issues.

Samantha is a member of the Bar Human Rights Committee and has been involved in many rule of law projects carried out by BHRC including a three year FCO funded project in Afghanistan. She has also carried out training on the ECHR in a number of former Soviet Union states.
