Sara joined Matrix in 2011. She is an established junior recommended in both Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500. Sara has a wide range of experience and practices in all areas of
media and information law
(including defamation, privacy and confidence, data protection, freedom of information, harassment, and copyright),
human rights
law and
public law
. Before joining Matrix, Sara was a Senior Lawyer at the Ministry of Justice in their Information and Human Rights team and, prior to that, she was a tenant at 5RB for 10 years.
Sara acts for both Claimants and Defendants and has represented a wide range of clients, including Media Publications, Local Authorities, Primary Care Trusts, Law Firms, MPs, Authors and other individuals. She has substantial litigation experience and has appeared as sole advocate in jury and judge alone libel trials. Chambers & Partners recommended her as being "tremendously smart", having a "calm and controlled manner" and a "capacity for absorbing details quickly". Sara has provided pre-publication advice to many large publishing and media companies including HarperCollins, The Times and The Sunday Telegraph and broadcasters such as ITV and Channel 4 News.
Sara is a member of the Bar Human Rights Committee and has been involved in a number of Legal Assistance Programmes including a Judicial Visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, a Library Resources Project in Sudan and Commercial Law Training Project in Sudan.
