'Age Discrimination and Education' Seminar LaunchGo to all events

Matrix and NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education) are delighted to invite you to the seminar launch of the Inquiry into the Future for Lifelong Learning’s legal briefing paper on ‘Age Discrimination and Education’, on Tuesday 2 March from 5pm – 7.30pm at Matrix.

Sponsored by NIACE, the Inquiry has set out a vision and strategic framework for lifelong learning in the UK for the next 10 – 15 years. The main report, Learning Through Life, was published last September and has been very positively received in many quarters. ‘Age Discrimination and Education’ by Helen Mountfield, Matrix member, adds an important legal dimension to the report’s recommendations about the distribution of opportunity and resources for learning throughout life.

This seminar will be an opportunity to hear from Helen Mountfield, author of the legal briefing paper, and Professor Tom Schuller, co-author of Learning Through Life. Sir Bob Hepple QC, FBA, and Karon Monaghan QC, Matrix, will offer responses. Full programme attached.

We hope you will join us to start the debate about the implications of the Equalities Bill for the distribution of opportunities and resources to learn throughout life.

RSVP to Emily Jones at NIACE: emily.jones@niace.org.uk or 0116 285 9676. If you have any special requirements, please advise on booking.
