Areas of practice

Areas

The members of Matrix practice in a range of different areas of UK public and private law, the law of the European Union and European Convention on Human Rights, and public international law.

Matrix’s legal practice is multi-disciplinary. Perhaps most popularly known for our leading position in the law of Human Rights, Matrix members are recognised in both the major directories as leading practitioners in more than twenty-four areas of law.

Matrix was established to bring together practitioners who recognise that traditional disciplines are becoming increasingly influenced by common principles of constitutional, European and international law. The linkages provide challenges and opportunities for legal practice at the national, European and international levels, which we are uniquely well placed to address.

The broad range of advocacy and advisory legal services that we provide, in the UK and internationally, include:

* Litigation before English and other UK courts

* Litigation before international courts, including the European Court of Justice and European Court of Human Rights, International Court of Justice, International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea

* Litigation before national and international arbitration tribunals, including ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL

* Advice to solicitors, other law firms, Governments and public agencies, intergovernmental organisations, and commercial organisations.

* Consultancy services on legal and policy matters

* In-house training and seminars, including continuing legal education
